Saint Lucia

Distance: 2 km, 3 min drive Location

It is a fascinating village founded by fishermen coming from Lazio and precisely from the island of Ponza. There are still boats anchored in the "boat beach" surrounded by low, colorful houses. Adjacent to the large beach there is an Aragonese tower which served to protect the coast from enemy attacks. More information about its history can be found here. The village is characteristic for its alleys with cafés, restaurants and bars and is often used to host events and festivals. Crossing the village you arrive at a large pine forest that runs along the sea where you can go for walks or picnics. In the pine forest there is the wonderful Sardegna Avventura Park adventure park.


La Caletta

Distance: 4,8 km, 5 min drive Location

It is the most populated hamlet of the municipality of Siniscola equipped with services and entertainment, including a very popular evening walk in the summer period for its market. The tourist port of the same name offers many possibilities: book the Davide e Golia and Imperatrice motor ships for daily mini-cruises to the beaches and caves of the Gulf of Orosei (Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine, Cala Goloritze, Bue Marino cave), book a fishing-tourism excursion, attending sailing school.


Longu and Tundu ponds

Distance: 8 km, 10 min drive Location

The nature trail of the Longu and Tundu ponds of Posada allows you to admire an enchanting environment where you can see pink flamingos a short distance away, donkeys, goats and, if lucky, even some herons. Posada is part of the Tepilora natural park which has obtained the recognition of "Biosphere Reserve" from UNESCO. In the park you can do many activities such as canoeing/kayaking, blue crab fishing, trekking, bike excursions, bird watching, panoramic routes, visiting Nuraghi, giants' tombs, castles, towers and lighthouses.


Fava Castle

Distance: 12 km, 15 min drive Location

One of the best known and best preserved fortresses in Sardinia, located in the ancient village of Posada, the castle stands on a limestone cliff at the top of the highest hill. Well visible from the main roads, from its top it is possible to admire an enchanting panorama, which goes from the Rio Posada valley to the beaches around the marina of San Giovanni of Posada. Legend tells of the citizens who made a pigeon eat the last handful of beans to deceive the attackers, but let the locals can tell you directly how and why they were deceived.


Nuraghe San Pietro

Distance: 15 km, 18 min drive Location

In Sardinia it is estimated there are 7,000 nuraghes, the San Pietro nuraghe in the municipality of Torpè is the closest one of greatest importance and best preserved.


Lighthouses of Capo Comino

Distance: 10 km, 12 min drive Location

At Capo Comino, in addition to the wonderful beach with dunes, it is possible to admire a beautiful panorama along the circular path Su Caminu de Artora which leads from the new lighthouse to the old lighthouse. Also from the new lighthouse of Capo Comino you can follow (by mountain bike, car or even on foot) a path that leads through the pine forest to the Berchida beach and continuing on to the beach of the Bidderosa Oasis.


Montalbo

Distance: 20 km, 30 min drive Location

Montalbo (Monte Albo, or Mont Blanc) is an imposing limestone mountain located in the heart of Sardinia between the municipalities of Lodé, Siniscola and Lula. This massif releases enormous charm, it stands rocky and bare between sky and sea, offering a natural habitat for golden eagles, mouflons, wild boars and goats. On the horizon, looking east, you can admire the stretch of sea between Posada and Santa Lucia. You can do various activities such as trekking, mountain biking, climbing, quad biking, 4x4 off-road.

Alessio Saba
